Speaking at the launch during Strokestown Poetry Festival 2023, Alan Hayes congratulated all the contributors, assuring the assembled that the collection gives great hope for the future of Irish poetry.

He spoke of the origins of Arlen House, Ireland’s pioneering, first feminist press, established by Catherine Rose in Galway in 1975. Together with Eavan Boland and Dr. Margaret Mac Curtain, these three powerful women, cultural trailblazers, who opened doors, started a new creative movement, demanding spaces and voices,  envisioning and enabling a future for women poets in Irish cultural life.
